Arif is a lead consultant at TLG’s Malaysia office, with expertise in electricity market design, power system planning, and energy transition strategies across Southeast Asia. He began his power sector career at Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) in 2013, focusing on market modelling and generation planning. He later contributed to national electricity reforms through the MyPOWER programme and led energy trend analyses at TNB’s Single Buyer Department. At TLG, Arif advises on cross-border trading, renewable energy procurement, system reliability, and regulatory support. He holds an MBA from the National University of Malaysia and a mechanical engineering degree from Kitami Institute of Technology, Japan. Arif is fluent in English, Malay, and Japanese.
